Psybird
A downloadable game for Windows
Psybird is a short platformer I made towards the end of Summer Break a few years ago, between my first and second years at Sheridan College. In it, you play as a mystical avian creature that uses psychic powers to traverse environments by slinging itself through the air or suspending its gravity entirely. It was mainly a programming exercise to keep my (at the time very poor) coding skills sharp in between semesters.
Around a year ago, I went back and implemented some audio to use the project for an assignment in a sound design course I was taking. With the exception of me saying "The Psybird awakens..." in a mysterious voice at the start, none of the audio in the game was created by me, and it was all taken from free public sound libraries I had access to at the time.
The background music is a MIDI rendition of the track "Faron Woods" from the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
